Honduras trip January 7-14, 2012
Our fourth annual trip to Honduras will be led again by Andrew Gaertner, a Farmer to Farmer board member who served in the Peace Corps in Honduras. We will visit the farms and coffee cooperatives in the mountains of central Honduras near Comayagua, the colonial capital. We will spend several days both visiting the people and exploring the rich natural wonders of the cloud forest in Rio Negro. We hope to be involved with a service project in Rio Negro, installing a micro-hydroelectric generator. Trip goers are encouraged to plan for some extra time on either end of the guided trip to explore other areas of Honduras on their own, especially the North Coast, the Bay Islands, and Copan.
