Farmer To Farmer Has A New Home Base
Farmer To Farmer has a long history and roots in Western Wisconsin. Some of the work that the coffee team preforms can be a complicated juggling act. Both the team and board work together to conduct the agreement to purchase green coffee beans from partner farmers. Then work on making the shipment from South America to the United States as smooth as possible.
When the green coffee beans arrive, we need to have a storage space ready and organize the labor to unload and safely store over 11,000 pounds of green coffee. While testing the beans for quality and assigning certain micro-lots to roasts that match their specificity.
Our partner roasters at Coffeewomple roast coffee to align with our particular needs. And ship coffee once a week from their Minneapolis location. That means the coffee team needs to occasionally take larger loads of green coffee beans to Coffeewomple. As well as delivering green coffee beans to other roasters who use Farmer To Farmer beans.
Sharing this process brings context as to why it is so nice to have a storage space that is central to where the coffee team and board live.
This space has a lot of potential. While we won’t have a retail store at this location, rather we would like to direct people to the Raw Deal to stock up on their lovely coffee. Or support our retail partners or buy from our website. The coffee team and board have big ideas, hopes, and dreams. Centered around how this building not only serves as a safe storage space. But also as a hub to educate and be a deeper and more meaningful part of this lovely community. Farmer To Farmer is a solidarity nonprofit after all, and we are excited for this new chapter.
